Your Success Is Not Mandatory…What Do I Care

The reality is that your success, your happiness, your desire to live a good life are just an elective course in the school of life. There are no laws that say you have to find your calling in life, that you have to be satisfied with the results you obtain. All you have to do is stay within the legal system, don’t interfere with others getting what they want out of their time on this planet and shower daily…the last one is just a request from me.

The flip side of the coin is that I really do care about your success and even though you are not required to be happy, I would like to see you get there. The great thing about having a free will and a little motivation is that everyday you can make a conscience effort to get closer to your happy place. What’s even better is that everybody has a different happy place so we aren’t fighting for the same piece of the pie all the time.

Most people have a general idea of what they want to accomplish in life, a rough road map that consists of short and long term goals they are interested in reaching. The path that we take will vary from person to person which will keep our “roads” free from too much traffic. If there was only one direct route to where we needed to go there would be constant traffic and frustration that would consume and discourage most of us. The ideal route will have enough travelers to make your trip interesting and full of character but not too many that you will get stuck and your motor overheats.

My suggestion is to plan out your route, bring enough stuff for the ride but don’t overload your vehicle and get a partner to help you navigate your way. If you can find somebody who knows the lay of the land then you will have a quicker, less stressful ride and hopefully get to do more sightseeing than you would if you were strictly focused on the asphalt of life.

When you are finished your journey hopefully you have taken enough notes and learned enough things to be the navigator for somebody else. Who knows maybe you even learned to change a tire and throw some duct tape on your radiator hose and are really equipped to handle the adversity that life will throw at us all. Just remember it’s your choice to make the change, to be happy and reach your dreams.

A great reminder that we are in control of our own financial destiney…and to remember that our prospects’ decisions are their own!
