Network Marketing Why

Why, Why, Why?

It doesn’t matter what you are trying to accomplish, if your “why” or desire to succeed is not greater than the distractions, detractors, nay-sayers, little devil on your shoulder or whatever could get into your way…you will fail. You have to do a gut check, see if you can get through the tough times in order to see it through to the end.  See the forest through the trees my friend, big picture is more important than instant gratification (if I come up with any other corny clichés I’ll throw them in later)

What is success?

This is the most subjective question ever. Is it a super bowl? Is it a promotion? Is it making more money? Is it waking up in the morning? You cannot define your success until you define your why. Your why will be your road map and its ok if you change your course but make sure it stays in line with your why. Your success is individual to you and others may be affected but ultimately we are all responsible for the outcome of our own lives.

Keep Track of Your Goals

My why’s have changed throughout the years, when I was very young it was all about me. My baby bottle, my etch-a-sketch, my under-roos. When I got a little older I learned team sports but was still out for myself…I was the middle of three kids so I had to protect my own interests. In high school I was obviously friend focused but trying to figure out what I wanted to do in life, pretty much my career path was what I was interested in figuring out.I worked for a few years on the graveyard shift I at least found out my why-not.

A Chef Is Born

I found the culinary industry and was hooked and my why was simple, when I did my job well it made people happy. Instant gratification, people who just paid a lot of money were smiling and it was because of me and my team. I also found the pleasure of helping other people and teaching them to be better than I am, again this was a great feeling. There are two problems with this industry, the first was that there was very little credit given to the actual chef, the notoriety was given to the establishment which was fine until the restaurant closes its doors. The second and most significant downfall was the hours, 80 hours a week, holidays and weekends were part of the deal. It takes a toll on the family and compromises your “why” of getting married and having kids. Remember stay true to your “why” and this gets lost sometimes.

Take Control of Your Life

I can tell you from personal experience that people are resilient but you have to make a change in order to expect different results. My why has changed, it’s no longer about being the celebrity chef and trying to be noticed, it’s about coming full circle and finding the balance that only about half of all families find now a days. You must know your why’s and revisit them daily. If you surround yourself (Attraction Marketing) with people who believe in you whether it is friends, family or teammates you will be unstoppable.

  1. Great Post Dominick! I just posted a new video on my blog covering this very topic.

You are absolutely correct – there are going to be many distractions along the way toward your success… but your WHY will keep you focused and motivated to keep moving toward your goal!

    Great post my friend!
